$500 Children and Adult Literacy Sponsorship
Ignite potential through the power of literacy. In rural communities, many children fall behind because they have limited access to peers and adults who can support reading in the home. Many adults in rural communities have also never had the opportunity to develop strong literacy skills.
Your $500 donation provides 10 teacher-led literacy classes for up to 25 children and adults. Through engaging reading exercises and activities focused on letters, sounds, word recognition, and comprehension, participants build essential skills and confidence. Together, we can break the cycle of illiteracy and open doors to education, independence, and a brighter future.

$700 Sponsorship for Daily Breakfast for 250 students
A healthy breakfast can make the difference between a child staying home and arriving at school ready to learn. In the Timber Nkwanta Village, parents often leave early to work on their farms, and some children are left without breakfast or the encouragement they need to attend school.
Your $700 tax-deductible contribution sponsors two months of nutritious school-day breakfasts for 250 children, from preschool through eighth grade. By nourishing their bodies each morning, the Nana’s Breakfast Box Program encourages consistent school attendance, improves concentration, and gives every child a stronger start toward a brighter future.
“Their Scores Opened the Door—Your Gift Helps Them Enter”
$1,500 High School Student Sponsorship
For students from Timber Nwanta, earning the required examination scores after eighth grade is a major achievement—but it is only the beginning. To continue their education, qualifying students must leave their village and attend boarding school in the nearby town of Kofiridua.
A $1,500 sponsorship—approximately $167 per month during the nine-month school year—helps provide boarding, food and personal provisions, required test fees, and essential school materials. These may include supplies for biology laboratories, sewing classes, mechanics, and other hands-on courses.
Your support removes financial barriers that could prevent a promising student from continuing their education. It turns academic achievement into genuine opportunity and gives one deserving young person the resources to pursue a brighter future.
Trade School Education
$1,500 Trade School Sponsorship per Year
Not every student qualifies to enter high school after eighth grade, but every young person deserves a meaningful path toward success. Through vocational schools and apprenticeships with experienced professionals, young people can develop valuable skills in areas such as fashion and sewing, electrical work, carpentry, masonry, mechanics, and other skilled trades.
A $1,500 sponsorship supports one student for a year of vocational education or supervised apprenticeship. It helps cover training fees, tools and materials, transportation, meals, and other necessities required to participate consistently. Each student is carefully matched with an appropriate school or skilled professional, and their progress is monitored throughout the program.
Most trades require approximately three years of training before the student becomes fully skilled. Your gift helps a young person gain confidence, build a sustainable livelihood, and contribute to the future growth of their family and community.
From Village Dreams to University Degrees: Creating Community Impact
$5,000/Academic Year- College and University Education Sponsorship
Invest in knowledge by helping an outstanding student pursue a college or university education. LEAP has already supported four college graduates, with degrees including education, nursing, and accounting—and all four are now successfully working in their chosen professions. During the 2026–2027 academic year, we are also supporting a student continuing to graduate school for his medical degree.
University education is one of LEAP’s greatest commitments, but the cost in Ghana is only a fraction of what a comparable education would cost in the United States. An undergraduate education averages approximately $5,000 per academic year, depending on the university and degree program.
We invite donors to consider making a continuing commitment, which may be paid over time, to help a student complete their college journey. Each sponsorship is personally discussed and arranged, allowing us to thoughtfully match the donor with a qualified student. Donors may also build a meaningful relationship with the student, follow their progress, and see firsthand how their investment is creating a future professional who can return and give back to the Timber Nwanta community.

LEAP on the Ground: Oversight in Action
$500 Monthly Sponsorship
Strong programs require trusted people on the ground to ensure that every project is operating effectively and every donation is being used as intended. LEAP engages local, part-time team members as needed to visit schools, check on sponsored students, monitor breakfast and literacy programs, review progress, and provide independent reports.
Our on-the-ground team also provides weekly coordination for volunteers who come to lead village projects. Team members help organize, manage, and direct these volunteers, ensuring that their time and talents are used effectively and that each project meets the community’s needs.
A $500 sponsorship supports one month of local transportation, modest stipends, project coordination, volunteer management, recordkeeping, monitoring, and responsible oversight. Your monthly sponsorship helps LEAP remain present, accountable, and effective—right where the work is happening.
Fill a Barrel, Open a World
$400 Barrel Shipping Sponsorship
A barrel filled with books can open a world of knowledge and opportunity for the children and families of Timber Nwanta. LEAP also ships donated educational materials, clothing, supplies, and other useful gifts that directly support village life.
Your $400 sponsorship covers the purchase of one shipping barrel, shipment from the United States to Accra, and final transportation from Accra to the village. By sponsoring a barrel, you help place valuable donated resources into the hands of the people who need them most.
